Advantages of building balconies and terraces
Building a balcony or terrace in a single or multi-family building allows you to get a space to relax regardless of the prevailing weather. Buildings protect against rain, wind, falling snow or falling leaves. They help to keep the balcony or terrace clean and reduce the necessary maintenance procedures.
The housing protects furniture and items placed on the balcony, it also allows you to grow plants. Thanks to the construction, you do not have to worry that the wind can overturn the pots and break the flowers. A built-in balcony also means a slightly higher temperature, which may be of great importance in the case of many plant species. The balcony is usually much better lit, which gives better conditions for vegetation. It is also advantageous on a built-in balcony or terrace, usually slightly higher air humidity.
The enclosures of balconies and terraces also allow to reduce the noise reaching the interior of the apartment. Additional windows reduce the noises heard inside related to traffic or a nearby playground. If the apartment facing the balcony or terrace is more exposed to the rays of the sun, the balcony enclosure can help reduce the temperature inside. A similar effect can be achieved in winter when it counteracts excessive cooling.
Available types of balcony and terrace enclosures
The most commonly used types of balcony or terrace enclosures are frame and frameless systems. They allow for a similar effect, differing, however, in the design and method of opening the windows, as well as the external visual effect obtained.
Building balconies and terraces in a frame system
The construction of balconies and terraces in a frame system uses windows embedded in aluminum frames. They are mounted on the balustrade or the balcony floor on special guides that allow them to be moved. In this way, they enable ventilation and regulate the amount of air that flows onto the balcony or terrace.
Windows sliding on guides are equipped with special bearings, thanks to which they slide easily and do not create resistance. At the same time, they are equipped with automatic closures that protect against accidental opening by the wind, a careless cat or a curious bird.
Installing balconies and terraces in a frameless system
The frameless construction of balconies and terraces is made of uniform toughened glass panes with exposed sides. Thanks to this solution, the user obtains the impression of a large glass pane covering the entire balcony or terrace. Due to the very high precision of manufacturing, the gaps between the adjacent panes are very small and the individual elements adhere to each other.
Glass panes are embedded in special guides that allow them to slide to the side and fully reveal the whole. The great advantages of the frameless system are the greater amount of light entering the interior and the low visibility of the entire structure, both from the outside and inside the building.
