DURABLE AND AESTHETIC ALUMINUM BALUSTRAD SYSTEMS
A modern solution that ensures high safety standards, interesting appearance and comfort of use. Our balcony railings are distinguished by high resistance to unfavorable weather conditions as well as mechanical damage.
CONSTRUCTION OF EXTERNAL BALCONY BALUSTRADES
The construction of the railing is based on specially designed aluminum profiles that do not require welding, which speeds up and facilitates assembly work. In accordance with the highest safety standards, the posts of each structure are fixed to the balcony slab or to its front, with the possibility of covering the entire ceiling strip. Copal also provides a wide range of handrails, as well as the subsequent installation of frameless or framed balcony enclosures.
BALUSTRAD FILLINGS
Aluminum railings not only provide the required durability and strength, but also determine the appearance of the facade and contribute to its character. The company’s offer includes various types of fillings compatible with the system of aluminum balustrade profiles. The most popular types of fillings are:
safe laminated glass – Allows you to design glass balcony railings of various textures and colors. There are also translucent or structural models of fillings (finishes: colored foils, antisole, sandblasted or etched glass, etc.),
fiber-cement boards, colored in mass or surface – They give the possibility of obtaining a strong structure and an interesting visual effect. Thanks to the finish with acrylic or polyurethane paints, they offer a wide range of colors. There are also brushed or raw boards to choose from for self-processing,
aluminum composite panels – with different colors and surface finishes
balusters or perforated sheet – of any shape and color
aSSEMBLY OF ALUMINIUM BALUSTRADES
Aluminum railings are resistant to unfavorable weather conditions. The aluminum profile is relatively light and durable at the same time, and allows for easy and precise processing. It can also be powder coated in several dozen colors available in the RAL palette, in a metallic, mat or structural finish. Specially designed aluminum profiles of Copal railing systems do not require welding and enable quick, safe and clean installation of the structure. All connections between the elements are made with rivets and screws, which significantly speeds up the assembly and allows, if necessary, to disassemble the entire structure without damaging it. Balcony railings should have a properly designed structure that will transfer loads and ensure safe use. The height of the railing, its structure and fillings should ensure effective protection and safety of users. The railing should be especially safe for children. It must prevent it from being climbed on and from penetrating through gaps in the filling or structure, as well as in places where it joins the building wall. The minimum height of the railing in multi-family housing is 1.1 m, while in single-family housing it is 0.9 m. The maximum clearance between the balustrade elements or in its filling should not exceed 0.12 m.
Stable balustrade posts are attached to aluminum brands on the balcony slab, from the bottom of the balcony slab or to its front, with the possibility of covering the entire ceiling strip. Aluminum brands can be installed both before the balcony slabs are finished, and can also be a decorative element displayed on the balcony slab. Regardless of the method of fixing the balustrade posts, the surface and moisture-proof insulation of the balcony slab must always be properly secured. The greatest risk of damaging the insulation is associated with the point installation of brands of balustrade posts from the top of the balcony slab. In such a case, special care should be taken to protect and properly seal the places where the waterproofing has been compromised. The holes for the anchors are cleaned and filled with a resin-based suspension. Then wait until the mass binds. This time varies depending on the temperature of the substrate and the mortar used, and may vary from a few minutes to several hours. After this time, you can embed the brand of the post, and the surface of its contact with the ground is covered with a sealing compound, at the same time protecting the broken insulation layer against water penetration.
Attaching the railing to the bottom of the slab or to the front of the balcony slab has many advantages. First of all, it does not affect the waterproofing and does not take up space on the balcony slab. These are the least invasive methods because they effectively eliminate not only the risk of leakage, but also the formation of thermal bridges. The brands can be attached even directly to the raw balcony slab (if it is isolated from the building structure with the so-called Isokorba or balconies added to the building) as well as through the thermal insulation of the balcony slab integrated with the building structure. You should use the appropriate length of spacers embedded in the existing insulation or make a longer handle to the post, so as to leave space for thermal insulation. For point fastening of railing grips, the most frequently used fastening systems are designed for high loads: mechanical or chemical. The choice of anchors and the system depends on the method of fixing the balustrade (from the top, from the bottom or from the front), the thickness and type of the balcony slab material used, as well as the existing loads. The chemical anchor has the most advantages because it allows installation at smaller distances from the edges and corners and closer to the adjacent anchors. Each time the fastening system should be selected according to static calculations.
